I will be able to use my blog as a place where students can find homework. Where they are able to share ideas and seek help from each other if having difficulty with a concept that was taught. It can also be used as an information platform. Both students and teachers can communicate with me through the blog.
I love the ideas you have for utilizing your blog as an after school assistance area. The mutual ground for teachers and students to communicate eliminates the risks associated with having to share your personal contact information (cellphone and address).
I think having parents access this blog could make for additional reinforcement at home with regards to them being aware of what is taking place in your class. One last thing I would recommend is that you add some more "you" to your blog's appearance. I initially thought that I accidentally selected Ilka's blog when this page first loaded only to realize that it actually a case where both blogs are somewhat identical.
It shouldn't be too difficult as google has made these blogs very easy to maneuver. If you need a hand let me know.

The ideas you shared about the use of the blog is quite interesting. I like the idea of using it as a platform for information and helping each other with difficult concepts. However there I think you can also use it to involve the parents as well so they will be knowledgeable of what is happening in the topics so they may give assistance to the students.
Thank you Ilka, I will include parents in the blog as it will give them the opportunity to become more involved in their child's school life. For some parents this may be their only way of linking with the school. Thank you for that suggestion.
This whole idea of blogging scared me when we started the assignment. Had it not been for Alvin's critic I would have been very content with the first I had selected as my template. This world is new to me and it took a few tries to be comfortable with venturing out of my personal comfort zone. I can see in this age of technology the usefulness of a blog for my students and their parents. Especially for those who are attached to their computers and the net, this can be a place of refuge instead of some of the social media sites they frequent.
This exercise has taught me that being a teacher also includes leaning new ways of delivering information. This is one new way.
